Teaching Workshop
Jockey Club Learning Chinese Culture through Arts Tech Theatre Programme – Calligraphy
Event Details
The workshop aims to introduce how to apply the concept of Zuni Icosahedron, especially through the Calligraphy Online Learning Kit created for this project, to teach children the basics of calligraphy knowledge and practice. At the same time, it will share experiences from The Monkey King: Havoc in the Calligraphy Metaverse Children's Creative Arts Tech Camp and facilitate interactive discussions with teachers to understand the needs and support for Chinese cultural arts education in schools, ensuring that future productions and activities align more closely with the demands of teachers and schools.
Participants in the workshop will receive a Chinese Culture PLAY + LEARN calligraphy learning kit and will have priority registration for workshops and guided tours of performances held in 2025. Additionally, participants can register on-site to receive a school edition calligraphy learning kit, available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Chinese Culture PLAY + LEARN calligraphy learning kit includes: paper, brush, ink, inkstone, and a calligraphy comic learning book illustrated by cartoonist Lai Tat Wing.
